Sherman R Bronson

Sherman R Bronson passed away on September 26, 2026 in American Fork. Born May 8, 1947 in American Fork, Utah to Victor R & Norma Frazier Bronson. He was the 5th of 11 children; Tracy, Connie, Janet, Lynn, Stan, Tim, Pennie, Cindy, Dan and Coy. He attended schools in Pleasant Grove where he played football, baseball, basketball and track. He graduated from Pleasant Grove High School with his lifelong Monkey Town friends. Shortly after graduation, he enlisted in the Army National Guard and qualified as a sharp shooter.

While serving in the Guard, he married his high school sweetheart Vickie Montgomery. Together they raised seven daughters and one son. Janalyn (Mark) Harris, Norma Bronson (Accepting Applications), Sheryl Bronson (Jeff Barnes), S. Clark (Calee Peterson) Bronson, Doreen (Brandon) Rhoades, Julie (Stephen) Eldredge, Hollie (Christian) Christiansen, and Heidi (Kent) Layton.

Sheman attended BYU and Utah Technical College where he received an electronics degree. Sherman had a passion for learning and returned mid-career to UVSC to complete his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management.

Sherman was very active in his community and served in many different roles including: the President of Lehi Vets Baseball Park, President of the North Bench Irrigation, various church callings including temple worker, and youth sports coach. Additionally, Sherman’s devotion to the Boys Scouts of America program created lifelong friendships with the young men he served.

Sherman founded the Lehi Honey Company and could be found on roadside stands offering fresh apples and honey for sale. Farming was his true passion in life. He often told those near him that he bought a farm to raise his kids. Sherman poured time into his kids’ lives by taking them on many adventures including ice fishing, lake fishing, gold panning, horseback riding, camping, hunting, picnics for wood cutting, football and basketball games, and Sunday drives. As his children grew up, his devotion extended to his 35 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren where he attended their sporting events, school activities, and performances.

Sherman loved parties, BBQs and was always planning get togethers with friends and family. Up until his passing, he still organized a monthly lunch with his classmates of 1965 and helped with high school reunions.

Anyone who knew Sherman knew he loved to tell stories and jokes. His smile, positivity, and humor brightened the lives of those around him.

Viewings will be held Thursday, October 1st 6:00pm-8:00pm at Wing Mortuary, 118 East Main, Lehi, Utah and Friday, October 2nd 9:00am-10:30am followed by the Funeral at 11:00am at 949 N. 540 W., American Fork, Utah. (LDS chapel)

Interment at Lehi City Cemetery.
