Obituary

Shirl Wayne Morrill passed away November 4, 2026, at his home in Lehi Utah. He was born on October 30, 1938, the second of five children to Verlan Wayne Morrill and Ora Simmons Morrill in Tridell, Utah.

At an early age after his father was drafted into World War II the family moved to Utah County to be closer to other family members. They lived in a few different homes in Provo and Orem and between working with his dad building houses, picking cherries to earn money, and playing with close cousins he loved life and learned many skills. After he graduated from Provo High School, he met his soon-to- be wife, Carol Lee Price who lived in Lehi. They were sealed on May 19, 1960, in the Salt Lake Temple. They started their family in Lehi and never left. Eventually he and Carol purchased some land on 1200 East where they built their final home, surrounded by fields being one of the first homes in the area.

Shirl served in many different capacities during his life as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was fully dedicated to his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. His first love was working with the youth, taking them camping and teaching them how to love and enjoy the beauties of God’s creations. He had as much fun as the young men he served. He had so much knowledge and love of the outdoors that he was able to share with all those around him.

Together he and Carol had 3 beautiful children and even though life was full every day of hard work to make ends meet, they lived their lives to the fullest and made many beautiful memories together. Shirl didn't often sit down - when he wasn’t at his day job, he was drywalling homes, taking care of his horses, sheep, and other farm animals or helping others wherever he saw the need all the while with a smile on his face.

Shirl loved sports, hunting, fishing and working outside to create a heaven on earth in their yard. He could fix anything and owned just about every type of tool or piece of yard equipment. If you needed a tool, Shirl most likely had it and would gladly lend it out.

His sweet wife Carol passed away after 46 years of marriage. Shirl was devastated at the loss of his first love and later married Deborah Watterud Roberts, and they were sealed in the Provo Temple.

Shirl was preceded in death by his parents Verlan and Ora Morrill, his siblings David Morrill and Leora Coombs, and his wife Carol Price Morrill.

He is survived by his wife Deborah Morrill, children Suzanne Rowley (Paul), Michael Morrill (Jeneil), Brent Morrill (Audrey), stepchildren, Matthew Roberts (Lee), Jonathan Roberts (Teresa), Christina Cook, Heather Bishop (Frank), twenty-eight grandchildren, and soon to be 27 great-grandchildren. His love and influence touched all those who knew him and we are so grateful for the light he was in our lives.

Services will be held at the LDS chapel on 1020 East 1900 North in Lehi, with a viewing on Wednesday, November 11th from 6:00 - 8:00 pm and Thursday, November 12th at 10:00 am, with funeral services to follow at 11:00 am. Interment will be at the Lehi City Cemetery.
