Shirley Southwick, 93 of Lehi, Utah, peacefully passed away Monday January 27, 2025 surrounded by family. She was born February 6, 1931 in Lehi, Utah to Vern William and Effie Duella Wray Webb.

She grew up in Lehi and attended Lehi Schools until the 8th grade when the family moved to Blackfoot Idaho. They were in Idaho for 3 years and then returned to Lehi her Junior year of High School. She graduated the following year from Lehi High School in 1949. On June 21st, 1950, she married  Mike Southwick in the Salt Lake Temple.

Her hobbies included reading, teaching social dance for ward and stake events with her husband Mike, and sewing, Her love of sewing led to an income for the family. Some of her projects included cheer leading uniforms for several schools, prom dresses and even wedding dresses just to name a few.

Shirley had a goal of attending college. After her children graduated from college, she attended Brigham Young University and graduated with a degree in home economics in 1986 with high honors. After graduation from BYU, she taught home economics at American Fork High School for 14 years before retiring in 2001.

Shirley enjoyed serving in many callings for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She served as Relief Society President for both ward and stake. She served in the Young Women program with her favorite calling as Young Women Camp Leader. She was loved as a Gospel Doctrine teacher for many years.

Shirley is survived by her three children. Judy (Judd-deceased) Kemp. Mike (Beckie) Southwick and Rhonda (Dave) Nerdin, 13 grandchildren and 43 Great Grandchildren. Also, her sister Elaine (Don) Ash and a brother-in-law Dave Aiken. Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, parents, 2 sisters and her infant brother.

Funeral Services will be held Thursday February 6, 2025 at the Wines Park Ward Building 481 East 300 North Lehi, Utah at 11:00 am. A viewing will be held at the church on Wednesday February 5, 2025 from 6-8:00 pm and from 9:30-10:30 am before the service. Interment will be in the Lehi City Cemetery.
