In Loving Memory of Shon William Harper
August 19, 1964 – April 12, 2026

Our beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, Shon William Harper, passed away peacefully at home on April 12, 2026.

Shon was born on August 19, 1964, to William and Colleen Harper, who raised him in a home filled with love. From an early age, he was taught the value of hard work, service, and devotion to Jesus Christ. Raised on his family farm, Shon developed a lifelong commitment to living the gospel and striving to be a true disciple. His early years shaped the motto he carried throughout his life: "work hard, play hard."

Shon had a deep love for horses and the outdoors. He raised and cared for many horses, which became an extension of his family and a meaningful way to connect with those he loved. Some of his most treasured memories were made in the saddle.

As a young man, Shon served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Scotland. He served with dedication and love, forming lasting connections and carrying a deep affection for the people and country throughout his life. Shon had a remarkable gift for friendship and brought light and kindness to everyone he met.

Shon lived life fully and intentionally. After returning home from his mission he found his eternal sweetheart, Sharon who he loved with every fiber of his being. This began the sweetest of love stories. On March 16th, 1991 they were sealed in the Salt Lake City Temple for time and all eternity. Together they built a truly celestial marriage as they raised their three children - Alan, Jake, and Codee. Their home was centered on faith, love, and adventure.

He found great joy in God's creations—whether at the family cabin, jeeping in Moab, or boating at Lake Powell. For Shon, these experiences were most meaningful when shared with his family. He led by example, teaching through his actions what it meant to live a Christ-centered life.

Shon truly believed you never met a stranger. He formed lasting friendships wherever he went and approached life's challenges with determination and faith, never allowing obstacles to stand in the way of his goals.

He faithfully served in many callings within the Church, including 17 years in the Timpanogos Temple baptistry. He had a special love for the youth and young adults, and one of the most meaningful chapters of his life was serving as a Young Single Adult bishop. This experience deeply expanded his capacity to love and serve others.

Shon lived a full and accomplished life marked by discipline, dedication, and resilience. Despite facing challenges, he remained a source of strength to those around him and a vessel through which God uplifted others. His only regret was not finding his sweetheart sooner.

Above all, Shon was devoted to his family. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who cherished his two grandchildren, Piper and William. They brought him immense joy and expanded his already generous heart.

In his later years, Shon was blessed with the opportunity to care for his beloved wife, Sharon. Their bond deepened even further, reflecting a love that transcends this life.

He is survived by his children: Alan (Kelsie), Jake (Jayci), and Codee (Brock); his cherished grandchildren, Piper and William; and his sister, Candace (Derek).

He was preceded in death by his wife, Sharon T. Harper; his parents, William and Colleen Harper; and his in-laws, Harold and Donna Tate.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 24, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 200 North Center Street, Lehi, Utah. A viewing will be held at the same location on Thursday, April 23, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., and again on Friday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. prior to the service. Interment will follow at the Lehi Cemetery in Lehi, Utah.
