Steven Lee Peterson passed away Monday, January 2, 2023, at home surrounded by his family. He was born on November 17, 1946, in American Fork, Utah to Marcella Deane (Fage) and Joseph Reed Peterson.

Steve married Neila Jean Larson in the Salt Lake City Temple on August 18, 1967. They have two children, John Peterson and Sally (Peter) Eakins. Steve is the proud grandfather of seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Steve graduated from Pleasant Grove High School. He attended Brigham Young University and received a Bachelor's degree in Zoology. After graduating high school, he joined the Utah Army National Guard in 1966. He worked full time for the Utah Army National Guard from 1972 to 2006, completing 40 years of military service.

Steve's family was his love, but his work was his passion. He always took care of his family and soldiers.

Steve was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Steve is survived by his wife, children, grandchildren and brother Joseph Peterson. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Don Peterson and sister Jeneal Peterson.

Funeral services will be held Monday, January 9th at the Meadow View Stake Center, 1200 East 851 North, Lehi, Utah at 11:00 AM. Viewings will be held Sunday, January 8th at the Stake Center from 6-8:00 PM and Monday, 10:00-10:45 AM at the Chapel. Interment with Military Honors will follow after the service in the Lehi City Cemetery, 1100 North 400 East.
