Our loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend Udene Cooper passed away peacefully on November 9, 2023. She was 96 years old.

She was born April 30, 1927 to Ernest Bowers and Merle Thornton Garrett in Lehi, UT. She graduated from Lehi High School and attended BYU before marrying her childhood sweetheart John "JB" Cooper. They raised five children and enjoyed 68 wonderful years together before his passing in 2015.

In addition to raising her family, Udene also worked at the State Driver License Division for 21 years before her retirement. She supported JB in his political career and spent countless hours in volunteer positions for both the City of Lehi and the LDS church. JB and Udene were the Grand Marshals for the 2008 Lehi Round-Up Celebration to honor their many years of service in the Lehi community.

Udene is survived by her children RaeDene (Richard) Clay, Kim (Laurie) Cooper, Rhonda (Bart) Blackstock, daughters in law Kathy Cooper and Bonnie Cooper, sister Adele Chadwick, 10 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband JB Cooper, her sons Michael Cooper and Howard Cooper, brother Ernest Thornton (Donna) Garrett, brother-in-law Jerry Chadwick, and her parents.

A private viewing for the family on Monday, November 13, 2023 will be held prior to her interment at the Lehi City Cemetery.
