Victor Ralph Hoover
The Man, The Myth, The Legend — if you knew Vic, you knew he really was all three.
Victor Ralph Hoover, age 74 years young, passed away peacefully at his home on July 9, 2026. He was born on January 17, 1952, in Provo, Utah, to Ralph and Rose Hoover.
Victor was a proud lifelong resident of Lehi, Utah. He attended Lehi High School and Weber State University, where he met his future wife. His home in the heart of Lehi was a gathering place where family and friends were always welcomed.
On July 5, 1971, Victor married the love of his life, Wendy Crockett. Together they built a beautiful life and family centered around love, laughter, and creating lasting memories.
Victor is survived by his loving wife, Wendy Hoover; his siblings, Gina Singleton and Chad Hoover; his children, Nicole Hoover, Brooke Thomas, Rick Thomas, and Cody Hoover, Brittany Hoover; his grandchildren, Teiler Barney (Matthew Barney), Kacey Medinger (Riley Medinger, Hayden Alleman, Ryker Hoover, Skylar Hoover, Berklee Hoover, Gavin and Ava Thomas; And his great-granddaughter, Remi Barney. He was also anticipating the arrival of another great-grandchild, affectionately known as "Little Helper Barney."
A true jack of all trades, Victor worked throughout his life as a framer, steel fabricator, brick mason, and carpenter, as well as a bartender and chef at La Casa, a local Lehi pastime bar and restaurant his parents ran. Whatever the job, he approached it with dedication, hard work, and a willingness to help others.
Victor found joy in life's simple pleasures. He loved fishing, spending his days on the lake boating, cheering on his grandchildren at their baseball games, and watching his favorite team, the New York Yankees. He appreciated good food, good music, good company, and above all, spending time with the people he loved most at the place he loved most — the family cabin.
To know Victor was to love him. His infectious laugh, warm smile, and larger-than-life personality could brighten any room. Whether it was a holiday, family gathering, or a quiet afternoon together, Victor had a gift for making every moment memorable.
Victor was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Rose Hoover.
Words cannot express how much you will be missed.
We love you
