Victor Anton Kolan
1926-2020

Loving husband, father, grandfather, veteran, farmer and friend, Victor Anton Kolan, passed away at home in the early morning November 9, 2020 in Lehi, Utah.

Victor was born in Bessemer, Michigan, to Slav and Margret Kolan on October 9, 1926. He comes from a large family of four brothers and two sisters. After high school, Victor traveled to Seattle, Washington, to work on ships and the railroad, then joined the Army. He served in World War II in the Philippines and Japan. He was proud of his time in the service. He displayed the American flag in the yard for every patriotic holiday, a reminder of his sacrifice to our country. He is part of the "Greatest Generation" of American soldiers.

After the war, he moved to Utah and married the love of his life, Ida Gray. Vic and Ida were married on May 27, 1951, in Lehi at Ida's parents' home on Saratoga Road. Together , they raised four children. Victor worked at Geneva Steele for more than 40 years.

Victor had a special love for his wife Ida and enjoyed keeping her on her toes with all the farming fun and shenanigans. She dreaded all the fence fixing jobs he always "shared" with her.

He loved tractors, farming, cows, and his family. He spent endless hours with his son and grandkids "down at the farm" in Lehi. They were always up for any adventure with him, creating memories they'll treasure forever.

He is survived by his loving wife Ida and their sons and daughter, Paul, Lehi, Dale (Rosalie) Wyoming, Teresa Mott, Lehi and Brent (Stephenie) Lehi. He is also survived by his brother Frank, and sister Katherine.

Victor and Ida have eight grandson and five granddaughters; Preston, Anton, Amy, Samantha, Cody, Rachel, Rebecca, Jason, Trevor, Shelbie, Chance, Destry, and Seth. They also have four great-grandsons and three great-granddaughters.

He is survived by many extended family members and friends who love him dearly.

He is preceded in death by his parents and four siblings; Joseph, John, Anton, and Mary. Also preceded in death by granddaughter Amy Kay, grandson Trevor, daughter-in-law Diane Kolan, and son-in-law David Mott.

A viewing will be held on Sunday, November 15th, 2020 from 6-8 p.m. at Wing Mortyuary, 118 East Main Street in Lehi. A family graveside service will be held on Monday, November 16th, 2020.
