Beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather, Brother, Uncle, Friend to so many, Wallace Bryan Olsen, "Wally" died peacefully, surrounded by his loved ones, after a very brave battle with cancer. He died August 12, 2024. He was 90 years old.

Wally was born on May 8, 1934 to Vera and Faben Olsen in Salt Lake City, Utah. He married the love of his life, Arlene Johnson, on June 15, 1956 and they share four daughters: Lynette (Joel) Cash, Juli Early, Sonja (Bruce), Nielsen, Annie (Jeff) Ferraro. Ten grandchildren: Ashley, Carly, Hayley, Danielle, Josh, Megan, Lexi, Landon, Chel, and Ali. Twelve great grandchildren: Boston, Jocelyn, Jack, Luke, Sam, Emerson, Mila, Jack, Liam, Kaia, Gatlin, and number 12 on the way.  Sisters: Shirley, and Maryann. Brother: Sylvan.  Many nieces and nephews who loved him. He is preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, Harold and Richard, and sister, Bonnie.

He worked at Kennecott Copper Mine for eleven years and gave it up to successfully operate Outpost Antiques for many years with Arlene. First in Sandy and then in Lehi. He and Arlene purchased their dream home, the "Cutler Mansion" on State Street in Lehi and lovingly restored it to its former glory. He was active in civic affairs and something of a legend in the community. He had the gift of gab and no one was a stranger to Wally.

He loved to tell jokes, sometimes inappropriate ones! He was a great storyteller. He loved his garden, flowers and vegetables, and his great joy was generously sharing his bounty with family and friends. He loved animals, rescuing many strays, and had a soft spot for the suffering of any living thing that needed a helping hand. Wally was the best Easter egg  decorator and Halloween pumpkin carver. He loved fishing, watching Jazz games, family parties, and vacations. Vacations were a priority spring, summer, and fall. He loved corn on the cob and watermelon. He always wanted the biggest watermelon he could find to share with anyone around. It was one of his last pleasures in life. Wally was a giving soul and loved people and his family most of all.

The family wishes to thank the wonderful caregivers from Inspiration Hospice. They enabled his passing to be in the home he so loved.

Gone to the antiques shop in the sky! We adore you and will miss you so much!

A Celebration of Life will be held in his honor on Saturday, September 14, 2024 at 4:00 p.m. at his home.
