Weston Glade Berry (92) passed away peacefully surrounded by many loved ones at his home in Cedar Fort, Utah, on September 7, 2025.

Our beloved father, husband, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend, had a deep love for his family and for the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Glade was born on October 21, 1932, in Lehi, Utah, to his parents David Allen Berry and Fannie Alice Reid. From an early age, Glade was quick with a smile, quicker with a witty remark, and always happiest with a guitar in his hands. Sharing his wonderful talent to sing and play while raising his children.

He attended school in Cedar Fort, Lehi and later Utah State University. He started his career at Dugway Proving Ground where he met his sweetheart Merle LaRae Gillespie Berry and they were married on September 26, 1953, in Eureka, Utah, and their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple on June 27, 1972. Together they built a beautiful life and family. Together they raised seven children, whom he lovingly referred to as "high bred stock": Susan, Steven, Annetta, Bart, Zane, Tawni, and Mindy. Along with raising a wonderful family, Glade and Merle shared a love of dancing and were graceful, joyful partners on the dance floor.

Glade worked hard to provide for his family, splitting his time between his job as a Chemical Monitoring Systems Manager at Dugway Proving Ground then the Tooele Army Depot CAMDS Plant, his cattle ranch, and his career as a professional musician. Through it all, no matter how many jobs he juggled or how far life took him, Glade always made time for his family, and a good laugh.

After Merle's passing, Glade was blessed to find love again with Maureen Leona Johnson Berry. Glade and Maureen were sealed in the Timpanogos Temple on December 23, 1996, and later built their dream home in Cedar Fort. They also served on a genealogy service mission, which brought them great joy. Together, they loved to travel all over the world, but at home they were just as adventurous and were often spotted driving out to check on the cows.

Glade was known for his humor and his sayings, many of which will live on as family lore. He had a gift for music and a voice that could hush a room while filling every heart within it. At only 17 years old, Glade's musical talent shone brightly when he won a $100 prize at a Lehi City music competition singing "Bells of the Sea". He bought himself a suit and a pair of church shoes, a choice that said a lot about his devoted and accomplished character from a young age.

Glade never stopped making music, whether it was on stage with friends, at weddings, funerals or in the living room with grandkids dancing at his feet. His great musical talent remained central to his life, he opened American Fork's first music shop, taught guitar lessons, and shared his performing gift with anyone willing to listen or learn. He played in bands with fellow talented musicians Jack Jeppsen, Delbert Huggard, Jack Gull, and Fred Christiansen.

Glade is preceded in death by his parents, David and Fannie; his older siblings, John Aaron Berry, Reid Allen Berry, LaRue Berry Ryting, Ivy Berry Duncan, Maxine Berry Sparks, Donna Berry Cook, and Veva Berry; his first wife Merle; his second wife Maureen; his grandchildren Justin Glade Berry, Brandon Bingham; Bryon Bingham, and great-grandchild Roman Millecam.

He is survived by his children: Susan Dransfield (Mark) of St. George, UT; Steve Berry (Genia) of Lindon, UT; Annetta Gallagher (Kevin) of Utah/Florida; Bart Berry (Kelly) of Cedar Fort, UT; Zane Berry (Ruth) of Pleasant Grove, UT; Tawni Otero (Joe) of Pleasant Grove, UT; and Mindy Young (Ro) of Sandy, UT. He is also survived by his stepsons: Michael Bingham of Fillmore, UT; Monte Bingham (Pam) of Spanish Fork, UT; Marty Bingham (Michelle) of Sequim, WA; and Marion Bingham (Dami) of Lehi, UT. In addition, he leaves behind 52 grandchildren and 67 great-grandchildren, each of whom treasures personal and beautiful memories of their Grandpa Glade, his humor, his loving involvement in their lives, and the entertaining and wise advice he was always ready to share.

A Viewing will be held on Friday, September 12, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Wing Mortuary, located at 118 E Main Street Lehi, Utah, and also from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. with Funeral Service following at 11:00 am on Saturday, September 13, at the Cedar Fort Chapel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, located at 185 East Center Street, Cedar Fort, Utah. Family and friends are warmly invited to attend. Interment will follow in the Cedar Fort Cemetery.
