Wilfred Niel
Biggs
Oct 14, 1939 — Jan 16, 2022
Wilfred Niel Biggs, 82, of Alamo, NV, passed away on Sunday, January 16, 2022, at his home with his wife at his side.
Niel was born October 14, 1939, to Wilfred and Sylvia Biggs in Price, Utah. He was proud of his Welsh coal mining heritage. He played football in high school and at Snow College. He hunted and fished and caught wild mustangs with his cousins.
On July 3, 1959, he married Roxie Ann Madsen in Lakeview, UT. They went on to have five boys, Chris, Dan, Bryon, Leo, and David, all of whom Niel was extraordinarily proud. They lived in Pleasant Grove for more than 20 years and then Lehi for 10.
Niel was a great husband and father, giving his family opportunities for adventure that few ever have; trips to Lake Powell, snowmobiling in the mountains, Salmon fishing on the coast, water skiing on many lakes, and camping, just to name a few.
After nearly 30 years working as a boiler maker at Geneva Steel, Niel began a second career as a welding inspector before retiring to Alamo, NV, where he kept horses and taught his grandchildren how to ride.
Niel was preceded in death by his twin brother, Niles, parents Wilfred and Sylvia, sister Mary, niece Karen, daughter-in-law Cindy, and granddaughter Crystal. He is survived by his wife Roxie Ann, sons Chris (Laurel), Dan (Robin), Bryon (Laura), Leo (Lila), and David (Krista), 25 grandchildren, and 35 great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be held on Saturday, January 22, 2022 at 10:00 at Wing Mortuary 118 E Main Lehi, Utah. Interment is in the Lehi City Cemetery.
A live broadcast of the memorial will be on the Wing Mortuary Facebook page starting at 10:00 AM
