Obituary

William "Jerry" Bell

March 14, 1953 – July 19, 2025

Jerry passed away on July 19, 2025, finally free from Frontotemporal Dementia (FTD).

Born on March 14, 1953, Jerry lived a life full of laughter, music, and service. He joined the Navy in 1971 and served two tours in Vietnam aboard the USS Hancock. After his military service, he worked for the U.S. Postal Service and retired in 2013.

He had a great sense of humor and a laugh you couldn't forget. He often found himself funnier than anyone else did. He had strong opinions, a stubborn streak, and wasn't shy about sharing exactly what he thought. Even in his final days, he found ways to make people smile.

Music was a huge part of his life. He loved singing, playing guitar, writing music, listening to his favorite songs, and making music with his son Cory.

He enjoyed camping, fishing, and being with his family. His kids and grandkids meant the world to him, and he was incredibly proud of them.

He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Terri Brown Bell; his daughters Tawni (Bill) Alvey and Samantha (Jake) Proctor; and his stepson Alex Hargis. He was a proud grandfather to Myka (Erick) Alvarez, Makenna Alvey, and Beau and Dean Proctor.

He is also survived by his siblings Nancy (Virgil) Johnson, John Bell, and Douglas Bell; his sister-in-law Kristi Bell; his ex-wife, Mary Forakis; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his son Cory Bell, his parents June and Horace Bell, his siblings Jolene Dilley and Randy Bell, and many other loved ones.

In keeping with Jerry's wishes, a visitation will be held at Wing Mortuary, 118 East Main, Lehi, UT, on Saturday, August 2, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM.  Casual dress.

A Celebration of Life will follow at 4:00 PM at the Bell home in Saratoga Springs. Family and friends are invited to gather, share stories, and remember him with laughter, and music. Military honors will be commenced at the Bell Residence. Food will be served. For address details, please contact the family.

A heartfelt thank you to the team at Bellaview Memory Care, especially Anjie, for their care and compassion in Jerry's final years, and to Jared with Renew Hospice for his support.
