William Manuel Macalupú Guerrero passed away on December 21, 2024, in his home in Lehi, Utah, surrounded by his family. William was born October 3, 1971, in Piura, Perú, to Manuel Macalupú Vilchez and Trinidad Guerrero Cruz.

William was raised and attended school in Catacaos, Piura, Perú. He had many close friends and loved ones there. At age 24, he traveled to the United States to stay with family in San Jose, California. William was baptized a member of the LDS church in California after meeting with missionaries. He came to visit Utah a short while after and decided to stay.

William met Megan McEwan in August 2002. They were engaged a year later and married on November 28, 2003. They lived with their daughter Mykah in Lehi as well as in Pleasant Grove Utah before their son Jonah was born in December 2004. William was working in construction and fell in love with finishing carpentry early in their marriage, becoming very accomplished. They moved to Cedar Hills in 2006, with Megan's mother Lynn right before Mykah began school. Their youngest daughter Becklynn was born in September 2009, completing their family.

William became a citizen of the United States on February 10, 2020, which made it much easier to visit Perú. Visiting and spending time with his family brought him a lot of Joy. William also began his own finish carpentry business, Madera, in June 2017. William became very busy with work projects and loved doing work for family, friends, and neighbors. He had such a big heart and enjoyed making many projects out of beautiful wood pieces, often giving them as gifts. William made many close friends through his work and truly loved them.

William adored his children, attending their sports and school events, traveling, and going to eat Peruvian food. On each family vacation, he looked up Peruvian restaurants in the area to support their small business, as his own mother had a small restaurant selling food from their home.

William was diagnosed with stage 4 Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma in Feb 2024. It broke his heart to not be able to continue his work and he tried so hard to get well so that he could get back to it. He fought hard and underwent many rounds of chemotherapy treatment to rid his body of cancer but it was too aggressive and progressed quickly.

William was placed on hospice near the end of his life, during that time he enjoyed his favorite foods, movies, and watching fútbol with his family. William fought hard to stay well through his son Jonah's birthday and declined after, leaving us just before Christmas.

William was preceded in death by his father Manuel Macalupú Vilchez, his mother Trinidad Guerrero Cruz, and his sister Maria Luísa Macalupú Guerrero. He is survived by his siblings José Hernán Macalupu Guerrero and Mirtha Macalupú Guerrero, his children Mykah Jazelle Castillo, Jonah William Macalupú, Becklynn Trinity Macalupú, and his nephews Jimmy Manuel, Macalupú Macalupú, Jose Hernan Macalupú Macalupú, Renzo David Macalupú Macalupú, William Jesús Valencia Macalupú, and Joel David Macalupú Guerrero.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, December 28, 2024, at 11 am. There will be a viewing Friday evening from 6-8 pm and Saturday at 10-10:45 am. Services will be held at Cedar Hills Stake Center 3950 W Cedar Hills Drive Cedar Hills.

Internment will be held at Lehi Cemetery, Lehi, Utah. Condolences may be shared with the family at Wingmortuary.com
