On June 4, 2022, the Mayfield family lost their patriarch, father, husband, and grandpa.

Randy Mayfield was born in Pomona California to William and Ellen Mayfield and was the oldest of their two children. From the beginning he was a spitfire, keeping them on their toes with his crazy ideas, stubbornness, and fun-loving attitude. He met the love of his life, Robin Mayfield in 1975 on a CB radio chatting for hours as Rickey Racer and Fox Fire. They were married in 1978 and enjoyed a lifetime of adventures between California and Utah with their 3 beautiful children and 9 grandchildren.

Randy loved spending time outdoors with his kids hunting and fishing and would often time be seen with a VO-Dew by the fire staring at the sky looking for UFOs (Ooo-Fohs) and talking your ear off all night. His other great passion was cars and everything to do with them. He could tell you every make, model, year of car just by looking at it, and continue to tell you everything you didn't know you wanted to know about the motor, horsepower, transmission, interior, exterior and other facts about it – he was a true encyclopedia of knowledge. He loved space and anything to do with it, was a huge fan of Star Trek and Star Wars, and was over-the-moon when he heard that William Shatner made it to space.

Randy was a friend to everyone and would do anything for his friends and family. He had nicknames and sayings for everyone and everything – some of our favorite Randyisms: bumfada, Shitbird, Obi-Wan, futtin A, shitfertski, Kilowatt, little miss turdbird, shew shew, darlin, mama, kiddo. He was the creator of the "Bird of Prey" and every member of the family has been taught it from a young age and knows the call by heart; if you've ever spent time with the Mayfield's, you know it as well.

He lived life to the fullest, never wasted a moment, had fun everywhere he went, and loved with his whole heart. He will truly be missed.

Randy is survived by his wife, Robin Mayfield; Children, Jared (Shannon), Josh (Angela), and Rochelle (Marty); nine grandchildren, Jacobe, Madelynn, Keily, Carter, Corbin, Nash, Joshua, Colton, and Hazel; sister, Pam (Craig); nephews, Logan (April), Bryce, Nathan (Brittany), Kasey; extended family, and a lifetime's worth of friends.

The funeral will take place Monday, June 13 ^th at the Saratoga Springs LDS church (88 West Harbor Parkway) at 11:00 am with a viewing at 10:00am. Graveside services will be held at the Lehi City Cemetery following the funeral.
