I, William M. (Bill) Pierce reunited with my sweetheart, the light of my life, Dona Cleghorn upon returning to my Father in Heaven. Graduating from mortality on October 2, 2020.

Life on earth has been a great ride, and I look forward to the future with anticipation and great resolve.

I was born into a loving, hard-working family on February 15, 1924, to George Dewey Pierce and Ida Cleone Manning, the third of eleven children. My parents and family members bring back fond memories of long ago, and a lifestyle cherished. Dona's family, Willard, and Cleone Cleghorn, and their children have also been a great joy in my life. They are faithful citizens. Growing up in American Fork was special and interesting. It has been home my entire life, except for time away for various military assignments. Life in this second estate has been good, but not without challenges, adversities, and disappointments to go with the elations and success.

I am grateful for a family I dearly love and the ability to serve them my Father in Heaven, my country, and my community in some capacities.

I leave for a short time, two special daughters, Carol Campbell and Suzanne Pierce Moore and her husband David Moore; plus five grandchildren Jennifer Rasmussen, Melissa Connors, Tyler Perrenoud, and Adam and Eric Moore. My eight great-grandchildren also have a special place in my heart. They are Rex and Porter Connors (twins) and their sister Cash, Landon and Tanner Rasmussen, Zuri Perrenoud, and Levi and Amelia Moore. Larry Perrenoud holds a place of endearment in the hearts of Dona and me.

During my adult life, I worked in farming, mining, and eventually in Purchasing and Materials Management, retiring from Hercules Aerospace as Materials Manager in 1986. I remained in the military reserve and Army National Guard after WWII active duty, retiring after 30 years of enjoyable, challenging, and rewarding experiences.

Those who know me understand the respect I have for our military forces and all who serve honorably. I send appreciation to all my military comrades and kudos to fellow soldiers of the 19th Special Forces Group (Airborne).

Bill's family gives thanks to John, Denece, Josh, Taylor, AJ and Sadie Jones, Elevation Hospice, and Jan Volgelsbergs for their friendship and loving care.

Graveside funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 7, 2020 at 11:00 AM in the American Fork Cemetery, 600 North 26 West.  A viewing will be held at Wing Mortuary, 118 East Main, Lehi, Utah from 9:30 to 10:30 AM prior to the graveside.
