Obituary

There simply aren't words to convey the magnitude of love and life that belonged to William Seth Tjaden, or the profound sorrow we feel in the wake of his passing. Memories of the past are branded in our hearts, and we mourn unfulfilled dreams of the future.

It is with immense regret that we announce his unexpected passing on March 21, 2024 at the age of 33.

William was born on April 6, 1990, in Leonardtown, Maryland to Richard Lee and Rose LaDan Tjaden.  He graduated from BYU in 2014 and went on to support his family with a career as a rural postal carrier for the United States Postal Service.

A cherished husband, William met his wife Leslie during their time at BYU, and they married December 21, 2013. Together they shared an incredible 10 years and 3 beautiful boys, all who maintain a striking resemblance to their father, to their mother's great joy.

Above all the titles and roles given to William throughout his life, the one he held in most esteem was that of father. Affectionately referred to as "Daddy Spider," William's sons adored him, and were constantly attached to him, often causing him to mow the lawn or attend to other daily duties and chores with a baby carrier to accommodate the needs of his numerous "helpers." His greatest happiness stemmed from the smiles and laughter of his children, who would eagerly chant "Daddy's Home! Daddy's Home! Daddy's Home!" upon his return from work. There will never be any doubt regarding his devotion and affection for his family.

Messages have flooded in about William's influence and acts of kindness, selfless service, and desire to go the extra mile for those he cared for. His presence held a gentle gravity, an invisible pull that grounded and provided stability for those around him.

Though he may be gone from this world, his steadying presence will be felt in countless lives he touched and the memories he created. William is survived by his wife, Leslie Brooke (30), and his three young sons—Harvey Lionel (6), Robert Liam (4) and Bruce Harrison (1).

A celebration of William's life will be held through an open house reception at the Lehi North Stake Property (2790 N Center Street, Lehi UT 84043) on April 5, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. A private graveside service will honor his memory on April 6 at the Lehi Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to support Leslie and the children during this difficult time through the following link https://gofund.me/bc40a71b or by Venmo @Leslie-Tjaden. William leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and everlasting devotion that will continue to inspire all those who had the privilege of knowing him
